KERALA STYLE FISH CURRY


INGREDIENTS
Fish - 500 g (Kish fish, Trevally and Jesh I have used this recipe)
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp

SET A
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp flat
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 3/4 tsp

SET B
Small onion - 8 no.s
Garlic - 2 pods
Coconut grated - 1.5 tbsp
Curry leaves - 2 flakes

Tamarind - 1 small lemon size soaked
Drumstick - 5-6 pieces
Green chilies - 2 slitted
Water - 4 cups
Salt - 1 tsp
Coconut oil - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 flake



METHOD
1. Dry roast cumin, fenugreek seeds
2. Add items in SET A along with the roasted seeds to a mixer pan and grind once
3. Now add items in SET B to it and grind once without adding water
4. Grind 2-3 more times by adding little water to a smooth paste
5. Heat water, tamarind water, drumstick pieces, green chilies, salt, grinded masala in a deep bottomed pan
6. Mix well and let it boil until the proportion halves
7. Add in fish pieces and cook until it is done, do not mix more as fish could break
8. Once done, pour in 1 tsp of coconut oil and a flake of curry leaves over it and transfer to a serving dish
